We are thrilled to invite you to an exclusive spring evening at The Alnwick Garden as we launch the Bright Garden Appeal with Hanami at The Alnwick Garden. Set among the world’s largest Taihaku cherry blossom orchard, this one-of-a-kind fundraising event is inspired by the Japanese tradition of Hanami, a celebration of cherry blossoms, renewal, and the beauty of spring.
Bringing together business leaders, supporters, and guests, the evening will offer exceptional dining, immersive cultural experiences, live entertainment, and the chance to win outstanding prizes. Most importantly, it will raise vital funds for two local charities: The Alnwick Garden Trust and Bright Northumbria Healthcare Charity, as we launch an exciting new partnership – The Bright Garden Appeal!

Hanami (花見), or flower viewing, is a traditional Japanese custom that celebrates the beauty of cherry blossoms. In modern Japan, it often takes the form of daytime or evening gatherings held beneath blooming sakura trees and this is the inspiration for the unique version we’re creating as part of our corporate fundraising event.
The Cherry Blossom Orchard at The Alnwick Garden is home to the world’s largest collection of Taihaku cherry trees. With 329 trees blooming in unison for up to two weeks, we’re keeping everything crossed that their glorious display coincides perfectly with our Hanami event. Guests can look forward to an unforgettable evening of philanthropy set against the backdrop of this remarkable annual spectacle.

Together, the partnership aims to create positive outcomes for patients, NHS staff and the wider community.
Find Out More about The Bright Charity hereWhere do I park?
Attendees of Hanami at The Alnwick Garden can park free of charge in the ACCESSIBLE car park, through the main garden entrance. Please show your Hanami event ticket to our staff in the car park to obtain free parking.
*Please note, attendees are not to park in the main car park on the opposite side of the road to The Garden as this gets locked at night.
Where within The Garden is the event held and where do I go for the drinks reception?
From the accessible car park, follow the signage for The Garden, past admissions on your right and through the gated entrance on the left, the event will begin in the main atrium space.
Are there refreshments and food provided?
Yes, tickets include a welcome drink and a 3 course sit down meal. Additional drinks can be purchased from the bar throughout the evening. Pre-orders on food are required and we also need to be made aware of any dietary requirements in advance.
Can I book a mobility scooter or wheelchair?
The Alnwick Garden has a limited number of mobility scooters and wheelchairs available to visitors free of charge. It’s advisable to book in advance by calling 01665 511350 and choosing option 1. Scooters are booked for 3hrs and can be collected from either admissions or the priority car park.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is ‘formal’ but don’t feel the need to wear black tie, unless you wish to of course! The general vibe is cocktail dresses and suits and part of the evening will be spent in our Cherry Blossom Orchard.
Because of the outdoor/indoor nature of the event, we will be running a cloaks room for the duration of the evening. Feel free to bring a warm coat and sensible shoes, as well as your heels or fancy shoes and they can be swapped over for the formal sit down dinner.
Do you accept card and cash?
As this is a corporate fundraising event there will be plenty of opportunity throughout the evening to get involved with raffles, games and auctions to raise money for The Bright Garden Appeal (The Alnwick Garden Trust and Bright Northumbria Healthcare Charity). We accept all major debit and credit cards as well as cash payments and thank you in advance for your generosity!
Where do all the profits for the evening go?
All proceeds from the event will be shared between The Alnwick Garden Trust and Bright Northumbria Healthcare Charity, supporting our ‘Bright Garden Appeal’.
